The formula works on three fronts. Tea tree leaf water sits high in the ingredient list, with tea tree leaf oil further down, supplying the antimicrobial activity tea tree is established for. Capryloyl salicylic acid, an oil-soluble salicylic acid derivative, and gluconolactone, a polyhydroxy acid, loosen the compacted keratin inside the follicle that allows a spot to form; both act more slowly than free salicylic acid, which matters on already inflamed skin. Centella appears both as whole extract and as its isolated triterpenes, a more deliberate way to deliver the soothing fraction. Niacinamide moderates redness, calamine absorbs surface oil, and three molecular weights of hyaluronic acid keep the treated area from drying out — the usual failing of drying spot lotions.

How to use

1. Cleanse, apply toner or essence, and let the skin settle.
2. Dab a small amount onto the blemish and the skin immediately around it, and let it absorb before applying moisturiser over the top.
3. In the morning, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen; exfoliating acids increase UV sensitivity.

Recommended frequency

• Active inflamed blemish — twice daily, morning and evening, until it resolves.
• Sensitive or dry skin — start once daily in the evening and build up if tolerated.
• Timeline — individual spots usually look calmer within two to three days; a meaningful reduction in how often new blemishes appear takes four to six weeks alongside a suitable cleansing and sunscreen routine.

Best suited to

Oily, combination and blemish-prone skin, including skin that finds benzoyl peroxide too drying. It is a supportive spot treatment, not a substitute for medical acne care — persistent nodular or cystic acne should be assessed by a dermatologist.

Good to know

The INCI includes eugenol, an EU-listed fragrance allergen, and tea tree oil is a recognised contact sensitiser for a minority of users — patch-test on the inner forearm for 24 hours before first use. Do not layer it over a retinoid on the same spot in one session; alternate evenings instead, as an acid, a PHA and a retinoid together on inflamed skin frequently cause flaking and stinging. Avoid the eye area and broken skin, and store the closed tube away from heat and light, as tea tree oil oxidises.
