An intensive hand treatment built around 20 percent coconut seed butter — a genuinely high concentration for a product at this price, and the reason it behaves like a treatment rather than a lotion. The texture is rich and velvety, melting into the skin on contact and absorbing without the tacky film that makes most heavy hand creams impossible to use during the day.
Hands are the most exposed and most frequently washed skin on the body, and the least protected. Every wash strips the natural lipid layer that holds water in the skin; without replacement, that loss compounds into the tightness, roughness and fine cracking that most people simply accept as normal. This formula replaces those lipids directly. Coconut butter is rich in medium-chain fatty acids that reinforce the skin barrier, sitting on the surface long enough to reduce water loss while the humectants underneath draw moisture back in.
Key ingredients
- Coconut seed butter (20%) — the core of the formula. High in lauric, myristic and caprylic fatty acids, it is solid at room temperature and melts at skin temperature, which is what creates the characteristic velvety melt on application. It forms a soft occlusive layer that slows water loss through the skin.
- Glycerin — the most reliable humectant in skincare. Pulls water from the environment and from deeper skin layers into the surface, keeping hands supple rather than merely coated.
- Fatty alcohols and plant-derived emollients — provide the cushioned, non-greasy slip and help the cream spread evenly over knuckles and cuticles.
- Botanical extract blend — supporting conditioning agents that soften rough patches and improve the overall feel of the skin surface.
How to use
- Apply to clean, slightly damp hands. Applying to damp skin traps the residual surface water underneath the cream and measurably improves hydration compared with applying to bone-dry hands.
- Dispense a pea-sized to almond-sized amount, depending on how dry the skin is.
- Massage into the backs of the hands first — this is where the skin is thinnest and ages fastest — then work through the palms.
- Work the remainder into the cuticles and nail beds and between the fingers. These are the areas that crack first in cold weather and the areas most people skip entirely.
- Continue massaging for 20 to 30 seconds until fully absorbed.
Overnight intensive treatment
Apply a thicker layer before bed and sleep in cotton gloves. Eight uninterrupted hours with no hand washing is the most effective repair window available for badly damaged, cracked or chapped hands. Do this two or three nights in a row when hands are in poor condition, then return to normal use.
Recommended frequency
- Standard use: 2 to 3 times daily, and always after washing your hands. Reapplication after washing is the single habit that determines whether hand cream works.
- Autumn and winter, or cold outdoor exposure: 4 to 6 times daily. Cold air holds far less moisture and pulls it directly out of exposed skin.
- Frequent hand washing or sanitiser use — healthcare, hospitality, retail, salon work: after every wash, without exception.
- Overnight repair: nightly during winter, or as an intensive three-night course when hands are cracked.
- Before bed, always. Overnight is when the skin's own repair activity peaks; applying at night does more than the same amount applied during the day.
Best suited to
Dry, rough, tight or chapped hands. Anyone who washes their hands frequently for work. Cold-weather use, cracked cuticles, and hands that have become dull and lined from repeated washing. The rich texture suits very dry skin particularly well; if you prefer an ultra-light finish for daytime desk use, a gel-textured hand cream may suit you better.

Good to know
This cream is also excellent on elbows, knees and heels, where the skin is similarly thick and similarly neglected. Not intended for facial use — coconut butter is comedogenic for many people and is best kept below the neck. For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not apply to broken, bleeding or infected skin. Discontinue use if irritation develops. Store away from direct heat; the high butter content means the texture will soften considerably if left in a warm car or on a sunny windowsill. Keep out of reach of children.
