Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate provides foam volume, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is a gentler taurate-type surfactant that cleans without a tight after-feel, and lauryl betaine buffers both and reduces their irritation potential. Because they arrive pre-diluted in air, contact time is short, which is what allows sebum and sunscreen residue to be lifted from the pore openings without stripping the intercellular lipids that keep the barrier functional. How to use

4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water; hot water strips lipids and provokes rebound oil.
5. Pat dry and follow with toner while the skin is still slightly damp.
6. In the evening, use after an oil or balm cleanser if you have worn sunscreen or makeup.

Recommended frequency

• Oily and congested skin — twice daily, morning and evening.
• Combination skin — once daily in the evening; water or a gentler cleanser is usually enough in the morning.
