A rinse-out conditioner for hair that feels dry and fragile at the mid-lengths while the scalp itself still runs oily. It conditions with a light cationic system rather than heavy emollients, so softness is not paid for with flat roots.

The mechanism is cationic. Behentrimonium chloride, behentrimonium methosulfate and stearamidopropyl dimethylamine carry a positive charge and bind to the damaged, negatively charged areas of the cuticle, flattening lifted scales so strands detangle and reflect light. Alongside this sit the scalp actives: sodium DNA, the polynucleotide the PDRN name refers to, a broad amino acid complex, and hydrolysed pea and vegetable proteins that adsorb to porous sections of the fibre and temporarily reinforce them. Niacinamide, panthenol and several weights of hyaluronic acid handle hydration, low-level salicylic acid keeps flaking in check, and rosemary, tea tree and peppermint oils with menthol and caffeine give the cooling finish.

The texture is a medium-bodied cream that rinses clean, following the Rosemary PDRN shampoo and pairing with the scalp serum.

Key ingredients

  • Sodium DNA (PDRN) — the polynucleotide ingredient at the centre of the range, included to support the scalp environment.
  • Amino acid complex — free amino acids that adsorb onto damaged cuticle and temporarily improve strength and smoothness.
  • Behentrimonium chloride and methosulfate — cationic conditioners that neutralise the charge on damaged hair for slip and shine.
  • Panthenol and niacinamide — humectant and barrier support for a scalp that is dry or easily irritated.
  • Salicylic acid, rosemary oil and extract, caffeine — the clarifying and cooling complex that loosens build-up and refreshes.

How to use

  1. Shampoo and squeeze excess water from the hair.
  2. Work through the scalp and lengths.
  3. Leave for one to two minutes.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Recommended frequency

  • Fine or limp hair — every wash, concentrating on mid-lengths and ends.
  • Dry, colour-treated or processed hair — every wash, with a longer two-minute dwell.
  • Sensitive scalp — two to three washes per week, to limit menthol and essential oil exposure.

Slip and softness are noticeable from the first use; less breakage during combing generally becomes clear over four to six weeks.

Best suited to

For fine, dry or breakage-prone hair, and anyone wanting conditioning without root weight. Approach with care if your scalp is sensitised or eczema-prone, or if you react to fragrance, menthol, tea tree or peppermint oil.

Good to know

The formula is fragranced and contains menthol, peppermint, tea tree and rosemary oils plus low-level denatured alcohol, so the tingle is deliberate and can feel strong on a broken or freshly shaved scalp. Avoid the eyes. Wait until an inflamed or sunburnt scalp has settled, and patch test behind the ear if you have reacted to essential oils before.
