A professional-grade at-home facial device that consolidates seven distinct treatment technologies into a single handset. The Booster Pro X2 is the upgraded generation of Medicube's AGE-R platform, delivering twice the power of the original Booster Pro through a dual-electrode head that is 1.3 times larger, across six selectable intensity levels.

The premise is straightforward. Topical skincare is limited by what the skin barrier will allow through — which is, by design, very little. This device addresses that limitation from three directions: sonic vibration and mild electrical current to improve how well your serums penetrate, microcurrent and EMS to work at the level of facial muscle and contour, and LED phototherapy to target specific concerns at depth. Used consistently, it makes the skincare you already own work considerably harder.

This is the most significant investment in our range, and it is intended as one. Treat it as equipment, not as a product.

The seven modes

• Booster Mode — absorption and radiance. Sonic vibration combined with gentle current drives serums and essences deeper into the skin than manual application achieves. Applied in slow circular motions immediately after your serum. This is the mode you will use most often.
• Air Shot Mode — pores and texture. Used on clean, completely dry skin with no product applied. Light tapping motions across congested areas target the appearance of enlarged pores and uneven surface texture. The only mode used without product, and the only one restricted to twice weekly.
• MC Mode — microcurrent, elasticity and volume. Low-level microcurrent applied in upward lifting strokes, working from the jaw toward the temple. Targets firmness and the plumpness that diminishes with age.
• Derma Shot Mode — EMS, contour and definition. Electrical muscle stimulation for facial definition, particularly along the jawline and cheekbones. The narrower electrode spacing on the X2 allows precise work on smaller areas the original model could not reach comfortably.
• Dual Mode — new to the X2. Runs two modes simultaneously, one on each electrode. Effective pairings are Derma Shot with Booster, MC with Derma Shot, or MC with Booster. This halves the time required for a multi-technology session.
• Mask Mode — new to the X2. Used over a fabric sheet mask soaked in essence, driving the essence through the fabric and into the skin over 5 to 20 minutes. Fabric sheet masks only — not compatible with hydrogel or peel-off masks.
• AI Care Mode — new to the X2. Connects to the AGE-R app, which builds a personalised routine based on your skin profile, current condition and usage history. This is routine customisation, not a medical diagnosis.

LED phototherapy

Seven selectable LED colours run alongside the treatment modes, each targeting a different concern. Contact sensors activate the lights only when the device is touching the skin, which preserves battery life and prevents unnecessary light exposure to the eyes.

How to use

1. Cleanse thoroughly. Every mode except Air Shot requires clean skin; Air Shot additionally requires the skin to be completely dry.
2. Apply a conductive medium. For Booster, MC, Derma Shot and Dual modes, apply a generous layer of conductive gel or a water-based serum or essence. The current requires moisture to travel through — running these modes on dry skin will feel uncomfortable and will not work properly. Reapply the moment the skin begins to feel dry mid-session.
3. Select your mode and start at intensity level 1. Increase gradually over subsequent sessions as you become accustomed to the sensation. There is no benefit to starting high.
4. Work in sections — one cheek, the other cheek, forehead, chin, jawline — moving in slow, deliberate strokes. For MC and Derma Shot, always work upward and outward, from the centre of the face toward the ears and from the jaw toward the temple.
5. Session length: 5 to 10 minutes total. Longer is not better.
6. Finish with your usual moisturiser, and sunscreen if using in the morning. Clean the electrode head with a soft damp cloth after every use and dry it before storing.

Recommended frequency

• Booster Mode: 1 to 3 times daily. Safe for everyday use.
• MC Mode (microcurrent): 1 to 3 times daily.
• Derma Shot Mode (EMS): 1 to 3 times daily.
• Dual Mode: 1 to 3 times daily.
• Air Shot Mode: 2 times per week maximum. This is the one hard limit — it is the most intensive mode and overuse can irritate the skin.
• Mask Mode: once daily maximum, 5 to 20 minutes per session.

A realistic starting routine: Booster Mode daily after your serum, 5 minutes. MC or Derma Shot three to four evenings per week, 5 minutes. Air Shot twice weekly on cleansing nights. Build from there.

Timeline: an immediate temporary lift and glow is normal after a session. Cumulative, visible change in firmness and contour typically requires 8 to 12 weeks of consistent use. Results from microcurrent and EMS are maintained through continued use rather than achieved permanently — this is closer to exercise than to a course of treatment.

• Do not use over the thyroid — avoid the front of the throat and the Adam's apple entirely. The sides of the neck are fine.

• Avoid the immediate eye area. Do not use directly on the eyelids.
• Do not use over areas treated with injectables, fillers or botulinum toxin without consulting your practitioner first.
• Begin at the lowest intensity, particularly around the lips and eye contour. Discontinue use if you experience pain, burning, dizziness or persistent redness.
• Keep away from water. Do not use in the bath or shower. Keep out of reach of children.

Good to know

A conductive gel is required for the current-based modes and is the single most common reason people find the device underwhelming — running it on insufficient product produces a weak, patchy sensation and poor results.
