That combination is why it behaves unlike anything synthesised — it hydrates, soothes, supports the skin's repair processes and improves texture simultaneously, which is a rare set of properties to find in one ingredient.

Layered underneath is a three-part rice complex — rice bran water, rice extract and rice ferment filtrate (sake) — the traditional Korean brightening system, plus ectoin, panthenol, allantoin and hyaluronic acid. The texture is rich but absorbs cleanly, without the tackiness snail products are sometimes known for.

How to use

1. Cleanse, then apply toner, essence and any serums.
2. Take an amount roughly the size of a large pea for the full face.
3. Warm briefly between the fingertips, then press and pat into the skin rather than rubbing. Snail mucin formulas spread better and absorb faster when patted.
4. Extend down onto the neck and décolletage.
5. Allow one minute to settle before sunscreen in the morning, or before sleeping at night.

As an overnight repair mask

Apply a thicker layer as the final evening step and leave overnight. Particularly effective on dehydrated skin, on post-acne marks, and during periods of cold weather or heavy active use.

• Dry or mature skin: twice daily, with a heavier evening application.
• Oily or combination skin: once or twice daily. The texture is rich but not occlusive, and snail mucin suits oily skin better than most people expect.
• Overnight mask: two or three nights per week as needed.
• Alongside retinoids or acids: excellent on recovery nights and the mornings after — the soothing and repair-supporting properties are exactly what irritated skin needs.
• Timeline: hydration and comfort from the first use. Improvements in texture, post-acne marks and overall tone typically become visible at 4 to 8 weeks of consistent use.

Good to know

This product contains snail secretion filtrate and is therefore not vegan. Modern cosmetic snail mucin is collected without harming the animals — the filtrate is gathered from snails moving over mesh surfaces in controlled conditions, then purified and sterilised — but it remains an animal-derived ingredient, and we would rather state that clearly than let you find out later.
