A calming, barrier-focused serum for skin that has been pushed too far: stinging after cleansing, flushed across the cheeks, or breaking out while simultaneously feeling dry. It is a recovery step rather than a treatment step, built for days when stronger actives have to be paused.

The formula leads with fluid phases instead of plain water: birch sap and tea tree leaf water form much of the base, giving light hydration with the mild sebum-regulating character tea tree is used for, without the irritancy of the essential oil. Repair is then handled from several directions. Niacinamide and panthenol sit high in the list and support the skin's own ceramide production and water retention. Below them is a full centella complex — madecassoside, asiaticoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid alongside centella extract — the isolated triterpenes behind centella's soothing reputation, rather than extract alone. Ceramide NP with cholesterol restores the lipid mortar between skin cells, while hyaluronic acid in four molecular forms, polyglutamic acid and beta-glucan hold water at different depths. Sodium DNA, resveratrol and tannic acid add the antioxidant side.

The texture is thin and silky, absorbs in seconds and leaves no film, so it sits comfortably under sunscreen in the morning and under a richer cream at night.

Key ingredients

  • Tea tree leaf water — a gentle, water-based form of tea tree for congestion-prone skin, far milder than the essential oil.
  • Niacinamide — supports barrier repair, regulates oil and evens post-blemish marks over time.
  • Panthenol — humectant and soothing agent that visibly reduces redness in irritated skin.
  • Centella complex (madecassoside, asiaticoside, asiatic and madecassic acid) — the purified triterpene fraction, used for calming and repair.
  • Ceramide NP with cholesterol — replaces the barrier lipids lost through over-cleansing or over-exfoliation.
  • Hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer and polyglutamic acid — multi-weight hydration without heaviness.

How to use

  1. Cleanse and apply toner, leaving the skin slightly damp.
  2. Dispense a pea to pearl-sized amount, roughly two to three drops.
  3. Press over the face and neck; avoid rubbing on inflamed areas.
  4. Follow with moisturiser, and with a broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen in the morning.

Recommended frequency

  • Sensitive or reactive skin — morning and evening, every day.
  • Barrier repair after over-exfoliation or a retinoid reaction — twice daily while all actives are paused, for one to two weeks.
  • Oily, congested skin — twice daily in place of a heavier essence.
  • Timeline — less stinging and tightness within days; visible calming of redness in two to four weeks; even tone in eight to twelve weeks.

Best suited to

Sensitive, redness-prone, dehydrated and acne-prone skin, and anyone rebuilding after aggressive treatment. Those who need real oil control or active blemish treatment will still need a dedicated acne product; this serum supports recovery rather than replacing it.

Good to know

No fragrance or essential oil is declared in the ingredient list, which is what makes it appropriate for reactive skin. It layers safely with retinoids, exfoliating acids and vitamin C, and is often used as the buffering layer applied before them. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Patch test for two days if your skin reacts to plant extracts.
