Snail secretion filtrate is unusual because it is not one ingredient but a complex of many: glycoproteins and proteoglycans that support the skin's repair processes, glycosaminoglycans and naturally occurring hyaluronic acid for hydration, allantoin for soothing, trace glycolic acid for gentle renewal, and copper peptides associated with firmness. That combination is why it hydrates, calms, and improves texture at the same time — a range of effects difficult to replicate synthetically.

The texture is the other reason people stay with it: a clear, slightly viscous gel that sinks in within seconds and layers under anything.

How to use

1. Cleanse and apply toner. Leave the skin slightly damp — essences absorb better and the humectants have water to bind.
2. Dispense two or three pumps into clean palms.
3. Press and pat into the skin rather than rubbing. The gel is stringy on first contact and settles as you pat.
4. Wait 30 to 60 seconds until tacky rather than wet.
5. Follow with serum, moisturiser, and sunscreen in the morning.

Layering method

For dehydrated skin, apply two or three thin layers, patting each in and waiting 20 seconds between. Thin repeated layers hydrate significantly better than one thick application.

As a soothing compress

Press a thicker layer onto irritated areas — after sun exposure, after shaving, or on a day when retinol has been too much — and leave for 10 minutes before applying moisturiser.

Recommended frequency

• Standard use: twice daily, morning and evening.
• Acne-prone skin: twice daily. This is one of the few genuinely hydrating steps that does not risk congestion.
• Alongside retinoids or acids: excellent on recovery nights and the mornings after — the repair-supporting properties are exactly what irritated skin needs.
• Post-procedure — after microneedling, peels or laser, once cleared by your practitioner: twice daily, patted gently.
• Timeline: immediate plumping and comfort. Improvements in post-acne marks, texture and overall tone typically become visible at 4 to 8 weeks.

Good to know

This product contains snail secretion filtrate and is therefore not vegan. It is collected without harming the animals — gathered from snails moving over mesh in controlled conditions, then purified and sterilised — but it is animal-derived and we would rather say so. If you follow a vegan routine, ask us about alternatives.

Snail mucin allergy is uncommon but does occur; patch test on the jawline for 24 hours before full-face use if you have a known shellfish or mollusc allergy.
