A calming sheet mask for skin that is red, reactive or mid-breakout. It is the most stripped-back mask in Abib's Gummy Sticker line: an ampoule-type watery essence with no alcohol, fragrance or essential oils, on a microfiber sheet that grips rather than slides.

Houttuynia cordata (heartleaf) extract sits fifth on the ingredient list, ahead of most functional ingredients, which marks it as the centrepiece rather than a token inclusion. It is rich in quercetin and related bioflavonoids — both listed separately here — which act as antioxidants and moderate the inflammatory signalling behind visible redness. Alongside sits a full centella fraction: asiaticoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid, the three triterpenes behind centella's reputation in barrier recovery. Tea tree extract and dipotassium glycyrrhizate, a liquorice derivative, extend the anti-irritant work, while niacinamide, panthenol, allantoin and sodium hyaluronate handle hydration.

The essence is deliberately light and non-tacky, so this is the mask for skin that feels hot, tight or over-treated rather than skin that needs richness.

Key ingredients

  • Houttuynia cordata (heartleaf) extract — fifth on the INCI list; an antioxidant botanical that moderates the response driving redness.
  • Centella triterpenes — asiaticoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid, supporting barrier repair on compromised skin.
  • Niacinamide — evens tone, regulates sebum and strengthens the barrier.
  • Panthenol and allantoin — reduce tightness and support healing.
  • Tea tree extract — included for its traditional role in blemish-prone skin.
  • Sodium hyaluronate — draws water into the upper layers.

How to use

  1. Cleanse and apply toner, leaving the skin damp.
  2. Position the sheet using the eye openings, then smooth outwards.
  3. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Remove and press the remaining essence in; do not rinse.
  5. Seal with a light moisturiser, and sunscreen in the morning.

Recommended frequency

  • Active breakouts or flare-ups — daily for three to five days, then taper.
  • Sensitive or redness-prone skin — two to three times weekly.
  • After a strong treatment, sun exposure or a facial — as a single recovery step.
  • Timeline — redness and heat visibly reduce immediately after removal; a steadier, less reactive baseline after two to four weeks of regular use.

Best suited to

Suits oily, combination, acne-prone, sensitive or redness-prone skin, and anyone recovering from over-exfoliation. It is a soothing mask, not an acne treatment: it contains no salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide and will not clear existing lesions. Very dry skin should layer a cream over the top.

Good to know

The published ingredient list is free of alcohol, fragrance and essential oils, which is why it suits reactive skin. It does contain rosemary leaf and tea tree extracts, so patch test on the inner forearm if you have a known botanical sensitivity. Do not leave the sheet on until it dries. Avoid pairing with an AHA, BHA or retinoid in the same session, as occlusion drives those actives deeper than intended. Single use only.
